Dr.med.vet. Bernhard Aigner Venia docendi  December 19th 2001 Dr. Bernhard Aigner gave his habilitation speech to attain to the venia docendi in the field "Animal Breeding and Genetics".  Appointment to professorship October 2002 Univ.Doz.Dr. Aigner  was appointed to the chair of "Laboratory Animal Science and Functional Genomics" at the Ludwig Maximilians University (LMU) Munich.

 

Dr.med.vet Birgit Cabot Venia docendi  June 17th 2002 Dr.Birgit Cabot gave her habilitation speech to attain to the venia docendi in the field "Animal Breeding and Genetics".  Univ.Doz.Dr. Cabot is proceeding her research work on reproduction biotechnology in a private company.

 

Dr.rer.nat. Ralf Steinborn Venia docendi  October 29th 2002 Dr. Ralf Steinborn gave his habilitation speech to attain to the venia docendi in the field "Genetics".  Univ.Doz.Dr. Steinborn is proceeding his research work on genome analysis and nucleic acid quantification at the institute.

 

A.Prof.Dr. Christian Schlötterer  EMBO Young Investigators Award 2000 The EMBO Young Invesitigator Programme 2000  laureates were presented may 2001. Europe-wide altogether 56 young Scientists were awarded. Among the five Austrian laureates Dr. Schlötterer is the only one working for an University.

 

O.Univ.Prof.Dr. Mathias Mueller December 2001 Prof. Mathias Müller was elected for membership to the German Academy of Natural Scientists "LEOPOLDINA". Elected members are scientists who have distinguished themselves by demonstrating academic excellence.

 

O.Univ.Prof.DDr. Gottfried Brem 28.12.2000  Founding "Diplomate of the European College of Animal Reproduction - ECAR". 01.04.2001 Appointed Member of the "After BSE" Working Group in the European Association of Animal Production EAAP, Rome. 22.07.2001 Appointed Member of the International Scientific Advisory Board of  the "Gen-Au" -programme (Genomforschung Austria).

 

In memoriam  Dr.med.vet.DI Gerhard Mayrhofer Suffering from severe illness, Dr. Gerhard Mayrhofer died June 15th 2001 at the age of 60 years. We lost an approved colleague in the prime of his life.
