Functional Claw Maintenance

The university course “Functional Claw Maintenance” conveys to the attendants an interesting mix of theory and practice to improve their facilities in claw maintenance and health.

The theoretical focus of this university course is ranging from the economically effects of claw diseases and the anatomy and biomechanics of the claw to the identification and treatment of diseased claws. Moreover also the topics lameness, hygiene, animal welfare, legal matters, and the right behaviour in case of an epidemic break-out are teached.

As soon as the attendants are familiar with the basic theoretic background they are taught the right handling of the tools to keep claws strong and healthy in practice. The University course ends with an final exam conducted by a commission.
