Introduction to Laboratory Animal Lore

The university course “Introduction to Laboratoy Animal Lore” is addressed to all researchers responsible for planning and conducting animal experiments in order to give them the legal qualification to work with animals in the laboratory according the principles of the Council of Europe. In order to participate in this course attendants must have a university degree, bachelor or master in the field of biomedical sciences.

This university course has the aim to set the stage for the conscientous handling of animals in science on a high level. The realisation and set up of regular postgradual education not only for the basics but also for the specialisation in laboratory animal lore provides an essential contribution to the highly qualitatively orientated biomedical research and thus contributes to animal welfare.
